The greater pressure created by the floating sleeve, combined with the unique labyrinth design and introduction of sealing air as part of the internal refractory, ensures no dust enters the expansion joint system.

Special shaping of inlet and outlet frames ensures that the entire frame surface is in contact with the gas stream and the surface facing the gas flow achieves uniform heat transfer.

DEKOMTE proposed an internally lined access hatch, suitable for retrofitting to the existing ‘cold case’ exhaust system. The solution involved a new section of liner plate with aperture fixing to integrate with the existing liner plates, ensuring the insulation will be well maintained and protected from turbulence.

Creating a hot casing frame connection for the inlet, whilst maintaining the cold casing outlet frame, utilised the best arrangement for a high cycling available solution, whilst giving making the optimum transition and integration for the exhaust duct.

An important consideration throughout the design was the high ash content and close proximity to pressure parts in the operating environment.
